Hi Jeff,

I have 3-4 additional people, including folks from H&R Block (can use this as a venue) interested in helping build out the KC chapter. Will get everyone to add their contact info onto the wiki and I am happy to help start promoting it through the SMC network as well.

For implementing GTD you might try out this web-based application:

Gtdagenda.com

You can use it to manage your goals, projects and tasks, set next actions and contexts, use checklists, schedules and a calendar.
A mobile version is available too.

As with the last update, now Gtdagenda has full Someday/Maybe functionality, you can easily move your tasks and projects between "Active", "Someday/Maybe" and "Archive". This will clear your mind, and will boost your productivity.

I think you're spot on ... if my day job wasn't editor of a blog that attempts to cover just about everything new on the Web, I'd probably do the same - In Google Reader, subscribe to ReadBurner Climbing (of course), RSSMeme, TechMeme, some shared items, and perhaps a few Digg/Reddit feeds.

Glad you're liking AIR, and thanks for the tip on Shrink O'Matic - I hadn't seen that before. My favorite AIR app is still Twhirl, but FedEx just released an AIR app that lets you track packages. I see myself using that a bunch in the future.
